32‘‘ SeeFront 3D monitor prototypes on display at MEDICA 2016

Two members of the project consortium 3DInMed will showcase lab prototypes of SeeFront’s upcoming 32’’ glasses-free 3D monitor SF3D-320MP at MEDICA 2016 in Düsseldorf at the Fraunhofer booth (Hall 10, Booth G05).

The Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (IIS) develops image processing algorithms to generate panoramic views from the image stream captured by an endoscope. A complete map of the hollow organ is generated during the inspection. Three-dimensional endoscopic panorama views provide new means of extending the endoscopic field of view. Furthermore, they enhance the possibilities for the documentation of clinical and technical endoscopic inspections. The IIS will showcase their EndoRama system in 3D on a 32’’ SeeFront 3D monitor.

Researchers of the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI) will demonstrate their algorithms for optimizing and streamlining image processing between the stereoscopic recording device and the stereoscopic display, in this case also a 32’’ SeeFront 3D monitor. The algorithms correct geometric misalignments and colorimetric inconsistencies in real-time, also ensuring compliance with ergonomic rules for stereoscopic content. The image data have been captured by stereo microscopes and stereo endoscopes.

3DInMed is a joint project of German companies and research institutions funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The goal is to develop an end-to-end system for capturing, processing and displaying 3D images in medical and industrial applications. SeeFront’s part in the project is the development of an autostereoscopic monitor.

SeeFront representatives will be at MEDICA on Monday, November 14. Please e-mail for appointment requests.
